Well, the rumors were true. Liberty House will become Macy's, with the new owners taking control next month, and the new name to be installed sometime later. Looks like, fortunately, all employees will be retained, and in fact, all stores (except a three-person kiosk on Kauai) will be kept open. Quite a change of fortune, that a Mainland chain saw LH as a fruit to pick when two years ago it was bankrupt and rotting away. I wonder what will become of the "local style" character that LH relied so much upon, though?
