When I'm not blogging, I'm browsing. Here are sites and pages that I bookmarked on April 13th:

  • DeconGel Provides Radiological Decontamination Technology to Japan: CBI Polymers LLC, the Honolulu-based innovator of DeconGel nuclear decontaminant, is making a donation of $250,000 in radiological decontamination products and technical services at the request of the Japanese Medical Association.

  • Keck & NASA Telescopes Reveal Surprisingly Young Galaxy: Detailed observations from the W.M. Keck Observatory on Mauna Kea in Hawaii revealed the observed light dates to when the universe was only 950 million years old; the universe formed about 13.7 billion years ago.

  • Shrink Nanotechnologies to Acquire Hawaii-Based Nanopoint Inc.: Shrink Nanotechnologies, Inc. announced today that it has executed a binding letter of intent to acquire 100% of Hawaii-based Nanopoint Inc., a biomedical instrumentation and microfluidics company.

  • NASA Airborne Radar Set To Image Kilauea Volcano: The Kilauea volcano that recently erupted on the Big Island of Hawaii will be the target for a NASA study to help scientists better understand processes occurring under Earth’s surface.

  • Richard Branson's Virgin Oceanic sub to feed deep-sea data: Richard Branson is set to dive into the deepest parts of the ocean in a new custom-built submarine which will be feeding trip data back to Google Earth as well as scientists from the University of Hawaii.

  • Third annual Ka Mole O Na Pua Festival at Leeward: RoboFest Hawaii offers more than 65 student groups demonstrating robotic challenges through games and exhibitions. The Wind and Solar Race Car Challenge features windmill and solar powered race cars on a track for children to enjoy.

  • "We Have the Power" Clean Energy Rally at the State Capitol: House Bill 1520 SD2 is a measure to adopt on-bill financing, which serves to eliminate the restrictive upfront cost of efficiency upgrades such as rooftop solar systems and energy-saving appliances.
