When I'm not blogging, I'm browsing. Here are sites and pages that I bookmarked on April 26th:

  • Cosmic Dark Matter Clumps Into Cigar Shapes: For this study, the researchers used the Prime Focus Camera on the Subaru Telescope on Mauna Kea in Hawaii to observe 20 galaxy clusters.

  • Life on Mars: Honolulu Weekly sat down with Blue Mars CEO Jim Sink to talk about some of his projects and the state of the high-tech industry in Hawaii. In short: things are not heading in the right direction.

  • Public school teachers spend Furlough Fridays at UH medical school: Twenty public school teachers are being trained in the latest scientific techniques under a program made possible by the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act.

  • Hawaii tax credits for tech firms in jeopardy: Lawmakers are considering two Senate bills aimed essentially at dismantling Hawaii’s tech investment tax credits, collectively known as Act 221.

  • Team Hawaii to compete in 2011 Solar Decathlon: Team Hawaii, made up of representatives from UH-Manoa and Honolulu Community College, is one of 20 teams selected to compete in the 2011 Solar Decathlon in Washington, D.C., this fall.

  • Library offers new Films on Demand resource: Films On Demand is a web-based digital video delivery platform now available from the UH-Manoa Library that allows viewers to access 5,600 full length videos and 62,500 clips on all kinds of topics.
