When I'm not blogging, I'm browsing. Here are sites and pages that I bookmarked on May 11th:

  • Lingle lauds Big Island carbon facility: The Big Island Carbon facility will produce activated charcoal from macadamia nut shells bought from local nut farmers who now have to pay to dispose of the shells. The plant also will produce a biofuel.

  • Tsunami 'could annihilate data cables': Scientists believe that 70 per cent of Australia's undersea cable capacity would be destroyed in a single stroke if a tsunami similar to the one that devastated coastal Thailand and Sri Lanka in 2004 were to strike Hawaii.

  • Hubble to Receive High-Tech JWST Technology: The ASIC’s technology has already been ground tested, as four of the tiny circuits were installed in early 2007 in the University of Hawaii’s 2.2 meter telescope on Mauna Kea.

  • Isle researcher involved in promising cancer find: A Hawaii cancer researcher and his international colleagues have figured out how to manufacture a molecule with anti-cancer potential.

  • PIPE Network undersea cable to boost Australian broadband: Australians are set for faster, cheaper internet access with the announcement of a $200 million submarine cable link to Guam.

Check out all my bookmarks on Delicious.
