When I'm not blogging, I'm browsing. Here are sites and pages that I bookmarked on November 26th:

  • Hawaii scientists study dumped chemical weapons: University of Hawaii scientists are studying chemical weapons the Army dumped in deep water off Oahu decades ago.

  • Rare dolphin listed as endangered: The National Marine Fisheries Service said Wednesday that it would take two steps to protect a rare dolphin in waters near Hawaii.

  • Pacific fishing zones: Lifeline for overfished tuna?: Scientists working at the University of Hawaii at Manoa have found that a network of marine zones in the Pacific Ocean could be a more effective conservation measure than simply closing relatively small areas to some types of fishing

  • 'Super Jupiter' Discovery Dwarfs Solar System's Largest Planet: The photo was snapped by Japan's Subaru 8-meter telescope on the summit of Mauna Kea in Hawaii. Alien planets are extremely difficult to image directly because their stars are always so much brighter, and outshine any planets.

  • Hawaiian Volcano Insects And Spiders To Be Studied For Biodiversity: Researchers from the University of California, Berkeley plan to collect insect and spider DNA from several Hawaiian volcanoes in order to better understand the origins of biodiversity.

  • HSPLS Receives First Hawaii Excellence in Technology Award: The Hawaii State Public Library System (HSPLS) has earned the first State of Hawaii Excellence in Technology Award in the category of Improving State Operations.
