Gallery: 2015 Dessert Fantasy Fundraiser
For two hours, hundreds of sweet-toothed supporters of the United Cerebral Palsy Association of Hawaii were able to sample as many desserts as they wanted at "Dessert Fantasy," UCPA Hawaii's annual fundraiser. Held in the grand ballroom of the Pacific Beach Hotel in Waikiki, "Dessert Fantasy" featured creations by more than 30 local restaurants, kitchens and chefs, as well as a silent auction, live music, door prizes, and activities for kids.
As previewed here on Tuesday, "Dessert Fantasy" raises about $25,000 a year to support UCPA Hawaii's nonprofit volunteer health work in support of children and adults with cerebral palsy or other severe disabilities, as well as their families. The local organization was founded in 1959.
My wife Jennifer and I were guests of Renee Gomes, president of Toshiba America Business Solutions, Inc. (formerly Hawaii Business Equipment), one of the many sponsors of "Dessert Fantasy." Thanks to her, we're now fighting off a sugar coma, after valiantly resisting our kids' Halloween haul last night.
Here are photos from this afternoon's gala affair, and you can see the full set of over 60 photos on Flickr:
