Haagen-Dazs Reserve - Hawaiian Lehua Honey

Kudos to style maven Leigh at hapa | hale for spotting a new ice cream flavor from Häagen-Dazs: Hawaiian Lehua Honey & Sweet Cream. It's an entry in their "Reserve" series, highlighting "rare and unique ingredients" from around the world. So, from the Big Island of Hawaii:

Rich, sumptuous waves of cream mingle with evocative glimpses of tropical honey. The rare and delicate texture of the Lehua honey is entirely different from any honey you've ever tasted.

Lehua honey comes from the remote volcanic slopes of Mauna Loa on the Big Island of Hawaii. There, honeybees gather nectar from the Ohia tree's fragrant Lehua blossoms. These beautiful red flowers are the unique flavor source for this rare, amber honey.

Mmm. I'm gaining weight just thinking about it. Want a taste? Well, it turns out this Hawaii-infused variety may be hard to come by in the Aloha State. I went to the Häagen-Dazs "Flavor Finder," but found no Hawaiian Lehua Honey within 50 miles of any local ZIP code.

Keep your eyes peeled at your local supermarket, though, just in case.
