HTDC Holiday Tech Fair

Hawaii often loses some of its best minds to the mainland. Although the Hawaii tech industry is growing (accounting for over 27,000 jobs, by some estimates), it's still small, and local talent is understandably drawn to greener pastures.

Fortunately, those Hawaii-raised developers, engineers and entrepreneurs still visit home for the holidays. And the annual HTDC Holiday Tech Fair is aimed at luring them back to the islands.

The job fair is, of course, also a great event for locals looking for tech jobs, and a showcase of local tech firms looking for talent. And combined with the monthly Wetware Wednesday networking mixer for software developers, this year's event is also a great opportunity to meet fellow geeks and explore possible partnerships and collaborations for 2015.

Listen as HTDC Economic Development Specialist Sandy Park makes her traditional December appearance on Bytemarks Cafe to talk about the event:

The 15th annual Holiday Tech Fair will take place at the Japanese Cultural Center on Monday, Dec. 29. If you come early, there will be free resume reviews and headshots taken beginning at 4 p.m. The fair begins in earnest at 5 p.m., with the networking mixer in full swing by 6 p.m.

Attendance is free, but online registration is recommended.
