Heart of Paradise Debuts Tonight
Take one part "Survivor" and one part "Extreme Makeover" and mix in heaping spoonfuls of Hawaii, and you'll get "Heart of Paradise," a new reality TV show that premieres at 9 p.m. tonight on KHON FOX 2 and CW93.
The brainchild of first-time producer Cynthia Lockhart, the hourlong program (which will also air on Monday) introduces ten contestants who compete to change someone's life for the better by changing "one little thing." Inspired by Hawaii's thriving car culture and many car clubs, the show will revolve around fixing up a stranger's... less-than-healthy automobile.
"Heart of Paradise" was actually filmed last year, and Lockhart and her team have been working ever since to polish and promote the show. And online social networks have been a key part of that: they've built up a fan community at HeartofParadise.TV using the Ning platform, posted video clips to YouTube, set up a Fan Page on Facebook, and posted updates on Twitter.
Before "Heart of Paradise" hits the local airwaves, the cast and crew will make one final advance appearance this afternoon at Aloha Tower Marketplace.
