Students at Kapiolani Community College will be presented with a veritable feast of opportunities in science, technology, engineering and math on Thursday at the school's 6th annual STEM Expo.

Nearly two dozen exhibitors will be participating, including from both the public and private sector as well as from across the University of Hawaii system. The event will give students an overview of the multitude of career, degree, service and internship opportunities available to them.

The five-hour campus expo will feature local makerspace HiCapacity, the non-profit service-learning group Kupu Hawaii, the Hawaii Conservation Alliance, and even the National Security Agency. UH programs like SOEST, CTHAR, and CMORE. And of course several KCC programs and clubs will also be showcasing their offerings.

"STEM occupations are projected to grow faster than the average for all occupations, and wages in these occupations are generally higher than the median for all occupations," organizers note. "The purpose of the event is to strengthen student success, and enhance STEM fields with future employees."

The STEM Expo will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19 along the Kokiʻo Building Mall on the Kapiolani Community College campus (4303 Diamond Head Road), near the school's STEM Center.

For more information, check out the official announcement, or call organizers ʻEleu Novikoff or Keisha Nakamura at (808) 734-7425. You can also follow @UHKapiolani on Twitter or connect with the college on Facebook.
