Congratulations to Big Island blogger Aaron Stene, who posted his 1,000th entry this week. The milestone is even more impressive considering the passion with which he also speaks out on local issues via letters to the editor and participation on message boards.

This was also the week he made the leap from Google's Blogger platform over to a hosted WordPress site, an important step in a geek's journey that'll undoubtedly find him blogging and hacking independently soon enough. (No doubt prompted in part by incessant nagging from yours truly.) Along with the move comes a sharp new look and a new address. Update those blogrolls!
